Here is the great message of Dr. Claudia Mika, CEO Temos International Healthcare Accreditation for this event:
Accreditation as a driver of quality improvement and business development in medical tourism
Patients seeking for medical treatment in Islamic countries and also worldwide must rely on the adherence of the medical service provider to ethics, quality and the understanding of service needs as well as the assurance of the “continuum of care” starting with the preparation of the patient’s admission and not ending once the patient is discharged.
Accreditation is the process of external, outside experts to conduct a review of the hospital or clinic to validate existing quality, patient safety and other applicable standards and to improve the medical and non-clinical services provided to patients and accompanying persons as well as to strengthen business development and to support marketing activities.
Founded in 2010, Temos International Healthcare Accreditation helps hospitals, clinics and medical travel coordinators to find their highest levels of performance to deliver top quality to domestic patients, patients with different cultural backgrounds, international patients as well as medical travelers they serve and to continuously take care of their quality. By working collaboratively, Temos International encourages innovation and avoids the “one size fits all” approach to accreditation which does not work across cultures for providers or patients. With its deep understanding of universal standards of quality and cultural differences in expectations around the patient experience, Temos International Healthcare Accreditation raises clinical standards, improve clinical and non-clinical outcomes as well as patient safety, and reduces costs for an overall client satisfaction.
In August 2021, Temos International in cooperation with its regional representative in Iran, Sarir Salamat Maham and the Health Tourism Development Center of Islamic Countries (HTDC) conducted a two-days’ workshop on the “Role of Quality Management & Accreditation in Medical Tourism” as part of the Temos Academy and HTDC’s continuous professional education for partners and members.
